Climb to the top of Divis and the Black Mountain for incredible views across Belfast and beyond. On a clear day, you can see Strangford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and even glimpse Scotland, Donegal, Cumbria and Wales on the horizon!

The paths up to the summit are well marked and generally gentle but suitable footwear and clothing are always recommended. Park for free in the National Trust car park and drop into the Long Barn visitors centre for guides and maps.

The mountains contain a mosaic of grassland health and bog with an abundance of species. Be sure to bring binoculars for bird spotting: red grouse, skylarks and peregrine falcons all call Divis and Black Mountain their home. Don’t forget the camera for wildlife and scenery shots, in the area there are even bluebell woods, spring lambs taking their first steps, spring nature walks and beautiful manor houses.

After hiking the mountain that contains 180-degree views of the city, treat yourself to a well-deserved coffee in the Long Barn. Perfect for Game of Thrones lovers who are mad about dragons and even families who are looking for some rainy-day fun.
